Pesto
This recipe makes about 1/2 cup of sauce. Double the ingredient amounts for sufficient sauce for multiple portions. The sauce is thick in consistency and mixes well with pastas and can be used with pizzas.
Ingredients
- 3-4oz. of fresh basil
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (fresh or Kraft)
- 1/4 cup pine nuts
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Juice from 1/2 lemon
- 3-4 garlic cloves (amount varies depending on preference)

Instructions
- Remove basil stems from basil and discard. Only use the basil leaves.
- Peel garlic and roughly chop or slice.
- Add ingredients to food processor. Blitz with short pulses to keep the ingredients from becoming a purée consistency.
Jarred pesto. One jar requires double the ingredients listed.
